RULES FOR SUBMISSION AND PARTICIPATION OF FILMS

FILM REGISTRATION IS CLOSED

GENERAL
a. The 3rd edition of Extravagant India! International Indian Film Festival - Paris will be held end 2017, in Paris, France.
b. Submissions for the Festival are open exclusively to films from and about India: feature films, shorts, documentaries, animation films, experimental films, student films. There is no entry fee.
c. The Festival admits only films produced between 2013 and 2017.
d. The films will be chosen by the Selection Committee of the Festival.
e. The Festival does not accept films that have already premiered in France.
f. Submitted films have to be subtitled in English.
g. If selected, no submitted film can be withdrawn by the applicant.

FILM REGISTRATION IS CLOSED
a. Derogations are at the Festival’s sole discretion.
b. The Festival will announce the selected films by mid-September 2017.

SUBMISSION MATERIALS
The applicant is requested
1 - To email to inscriptions-films@extravagantindia.fr the duly filled online entry form in English, to be found on the Festival’s website:

2 - To make his film available for screening, through any of the following means:
* Screening from a streaming platform such as vimeo, cinando, youtube... (please supply link and password)
* Screening from a downloading platform such as WeTransfer or Hightail (to be sent to
inscriptions-films@extravagantindia.fr)
* Screening from a USB key to be sent to the following address :

(no such screeners will be returned)
Films can be watermarked
All physical submissions, documentation materials and USB keys must be sent prepaid by ordinary mail or courier (please mention " for cultural purpose only - no commercial value" and no amount above 10 Euros as value).

SELECTED FILMS
a. Both selected and non-selected applicants will be informed by personal email.
b. Catalogue
The requested materials will be made available in time for the Festival catalogue, which will include film related texts.
The definitive texts will be at the sole discretion of the Festival.
The Festival accepts no liability in the event that its publications reproduce inaccuracies in submitted materials.
c. Press and publicity
After the official selection of a film, the following furtheritems will be requested, as well as the theatrical screening master:
- official trailer
- chosen excerpts not exceeding 3’
For promotion of the whole selection and of each selected film, the Festival is allowed to use any photo or digital film clip.
d. Programming
General scheduling and timetabling of screenings are entirely at the discretion of the Festival.
e. French subtitles
The Festival takes charge of the French sub-titling. All selected applicants have to send in due time and via email the English dialogue list with time codes in SRT or STL formats.
f. Festival archive and other uses
For the sake of promoting the Festival, the films and Indian Cinema, the applicants of the selected films duly authorize the Festival to screen the films in other occasions such as “Extravagant India ! out of it‘s walls”.

SHIPMENT TO PARIS AND RETURN OF THE PHYSICAL THEATRICAL SCREENING MASTERS FOR THE SELECTED FILMS OBLIGATION OF THE RIGHT HOLDER
a. The right holders of the selected films are expected to use the logo of the Festival on all their promotional and publicity materials .
If the film wins an award at the Festival, the right holder will mention it in all the film’s publicity.
b. The application and participation of films imply unconditional acceptance of the rules herein.
